London – 23rd June 2008: Stonesoft, an innovative provider of network security and business continuity solutions, has hired Harvard PR to help increase its share of voice in the UK and support its move into the burgeoning security virtualization market. Harvard, the technology, media and telecoms agency within the Bell Pottinger group, fought off competition from two other agencies to secure the account.
The significant environmental and cost benefits of virtualisation, which essentially lets one computer do the job of multiple computers, has led to its rapid adoption and is changing the computing landscape. However, as with any new technology, virtualization brings new security concerns which many companies are, as yet, failing to address. Earlier this year Stonesoft announced that it has become a member of the Technology Alliance Partner program of VMware, the world`s leading provider of virtualization solution, making it among the first providers to launch security solutions for virtual environments and strengthening its position as a leading expert in network security.
Founded in 1990, Stonesoft Corporation is a global organisation with corporate headquarters in Helsinki, Finland and American headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia. The company has seen a 40% revenue increase year to year and a 120% increase in new customers over the last 12 months. The company has customers in more than 60 countries worldwide, including Swisscom Mobile, Wanadoo, OPEC, Xerox, Telefonica and Fastweb. It provides solutions for enterprise customers requiring advanced network security and always-on business connectivity within the finance, government, legal, health care, education and retail industries.
“We were looking for a fresh approach to PR and ideas that would help elevate our profile here in the UK,” said Ashish Patel, UK Manager for UK and Ireland, Stonesoft. “Harvard’s wealth of experience in this sector, its understanding of our business and the creativity of the ideas proposed made them the obvious choice.”
Harvard will work with Stonesoft to develop messaging that will resonate with its target audience of IT and network managers, capitalising on its expert insight on topical issues such as Web 2.0, the growth of the networked economy and data leakage prevention. Harvard will also aid the development of relationships with key media in the trade and vertical press and help to solidify Stonesoft’s position as a leader within the ‘security virtualisation’ space.
The Harvard team will be headed up by Harvard’s Managing Director, Chris Cartwright.
